Hardware Design Engineer

A Hardware Design Engineer is needed for a company that produces electronics and HVAC equipment for buildings in the New Freedom, PA area. This role involves designing, testing, and sustaining electronic printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies for chiller applications, focusing on control board development, circuit design, reliability analysis, and collaboration with technical support and manufacturing teams.

responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain the main control board for chiller applications, incorporating MPU/MCU, FPGA, and other circuits.
• Design analog and digital interface circuits and develop or select power supply circuits.
• Perform worst-case circuit analysis and apply reliability principles to ensure reliable operation within environmental specifications.
• Design and maintain printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), including schematic design and layout using design tools.
• Conduct cost analysis for feasibility studies on proposed designs or modifications to existing designs.
• Provide support to the product technical support team and PCBA manufacturing factories to maintain existing and new product introduction (NPI) products.
• Understand and comply with quality policies, procedures, and instructions to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.

Skills:

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven, team-oriented environment.
• Familiarity with various MPU/MCU is desired.
• Familiarity with circuit design and layout tools, such as Mentor Graphics, is desired.
• Familiarity with signal integrity tools is desired.
• Experience with programmable logic is a plus.
• strong verbal and written communication skills and a good team player.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Computer Engineering (BSCE), or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience.
