Contracts Manager

Robert Half is parking with an international company seeking a Contracts Manager to join its legal team in Jarupa Valley, CA.

This contracts manager will negotiate, draft, and redline commercial and government contracts, as well as handle compliance matters. The Contract Manager will negotiate contracts related to customers, suppliers, distributors, and sales representatives, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the management of commercial and government contracts, ensuring all operations align with the stipulated terms and conditions.
• Conduct negotiations and redlining for contracts related to customers, suppliers, distributors, and sales representatives.
• Prepare contracts for internal review and approval, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with the Contract Director, legal team, and external attorneys to resolve contracts issues.
• Participate in monthly contract risk reviews to identify potential issues and develop mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with all government regulations applicable to US government contracts.
• Interpret contracts to provide advice to managers on potential contractual responsibilities, obligations, and penalties.
• Translate complex legal language in commercial contracts into clearly understood language, aiding in creating action plans for continued growth.
• Manage the contract tracking and archive system, ensuring it is secure and changes are traceable.
• Develop and present contracts training on key contracting topics to enhance the team's understanding and execution of contract management.
• Support group and corporate compliance initiatives at the local site level across the company.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the Oil & Gas - Explor & Prod industry
• Proven expertise in Contract Management
• Experience in Redlining contracts
• Knowledge of Federal Government Contracts
• Familiarity with Government compliance procedures and regulations
• Strong understanding and experience with Government Contracts
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently and make decisions under minimal supervision
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
