Accounting Manager - Robert Half
Robert Half is in search for an Accounting Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for, among other things, the following: reviewing and processing vendor invoices for payment; reviewing and approving billing to company's locals; posting cash receipts and disbursements to ledgers; reconciling the general ledger monthly; preparing trial balances; reconciling monthly bank and investment statements; managing investments and bank to bank transfers; computing and preparing federal and state quarterly and annual payroll tax reports; preparing quarterly and annual payroll recaps; processing payroll including reviewing and implementing payroll tax updates, salary increases, paid vacations, sick leave, etc.
based upon union contracts; processing 401(k) contributions; reviewing and processing employee reimbursement submissions; preparing quarterly financial statements and budget reports; consulting with auditors as necessary to prepare quarterly financial statements; providing analysis on expenses; preparing annual statement of Chargeable and Non-Chargeable reports; filing periodic reports with the FEC; supervising a bookkeeper; corresponding with local unions regarding routine financial matters; maintaining and updating inventories; interfacing with banks, hotels and vendors; maintaining personnel files and paid time off benefits; preparing census material for pension, 401(k), life and disability insurance carriers; coordinating financial and tax audits; interacting with regulatory bodies such as the DOL and IRS; advising and alerting officers regarding financial matters when necessary.

The successful candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, at least three of which are in a supervisorial role. Experience working for a labor union or non-profit is recommended as is a related educational degree and experience filing LMs with the Department of Labor and 990’s.Experience with and knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook) are strongly preferred.
