Production Associate

• Production Associate (starting pay $16.00*)

$0.75 at 6 months and 1 year service, plus annual merit increase.)

Position Purpose: Responsible for loading steel into Shear and cutting to proper length.

• Loads bundles onto shear.
• Pulls tag off bundle and records information onto the shear report.
• Gets new heat code for that bundle.
• Tags boxes with proper information part #, heat code, date, and initials.
• Pulls a 19’ bar through shear to backstop cuts bar.
• Takes that bar and checks measurement with ruler or tape ruler to make sure for proper length of shear report.
• Makes sure the shear is making a clean cut if not get supervisor to change blades.
• Makes adjustment to backstop if needed for correct length.
• Pushes bar through again to backstop make another cut check length again.
• If length is good, continue cutting bar until last cut, take and measure that for right bar end cut on shear report.
• When done cutting for shift, hand in shear report and tags bundle.
• Clean up around shear.
• Unloading steel trucks
• Training on how to use the magnetic crane safely and responsible.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED

• Must be able to read and write English.
• Must be able to read and understand work instructions.
• Must be able to read a tape measure or ruler.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well with others.

• Ability to twist, bend and lift repetitively.

• Good physical conditions to lift up to 25lbs repetitively.
• Good eye/hand coordination and good motor skills.

• Exposure to loud noise
• Exposure to hot and humid conditions
• Double hearing protection and eye protection are required at all times in all production areas
• Steel toe boots with metatarsals are required at all times
