They operate in countries all over the globe, this position is out of the Warren, Rhode Island area.

Job Description

The main responsibilities for the Development Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Innovate and Collaborate: Partner with customers, engineering, quality, and production teams to develop innovative products, ensuring they meet specifications, deadlines, and budget requirements.
  • Lead Product Development: Oversee the product lifecycle, from design and machine trials to full-scale production, ensuring a smooth handoff to manufacturing.
  • Provide Technical Support: Offer technical expertise to resolve production challenges and provide customer support, including occasional on-site visits.
  • Coordinate Schedules: Manage product development timelines with customers, supply chain, and operations, ensuring alignment between design and production feasibility.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Development Engineer will have the following qualifications:

  • 3+ years in a manufacturing and/or development environment in a technical role (required).
  • At least 1 year of experience managing projects (required).
  • Skills: Strong initiative, organizational abilities, decision-making skills, and a high level of customer orientation (required).
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience in CNC machining, assembly, injection molding, or compression molding (required).
  • Knowledge of WCM or Lean Manufacturing principles such as Kaizen, 5S, and pilot projects (required).
  • Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with industry standards like AS-9100, IATF-16949, APQP, and PPAP (preferred).
