Portfolio Analyst
The Role
We are seeking an Alternatives-focused Portfolio Analyst to join our Stamford, CT office. The Portfolio Analyst works across a range of clients, including Endowments & Foundations, Pension Plans, Family Office and Financial Intermediaries. They will be responsible for formulating investment policy and guidelines, and making strategy and fund recommendations based on portfolio construction process, research platform and house view.
Responsibilities
o Advise the companies clients and take ownership of the client relationships.
o Assist clients with formulating investment policy and guidelines, and make recommendations to them related to individual funds, strategy, or general portfolio characteristics based on these guidelines.
o Construct and actively monitor client portfolios with reference to portfolio pacing, monthly / quarterly performance, risk, exposures, research ratings, all while understanding the portfolios objectives within the context of the total asset allocation.
o Prepare and present client-specific presentation materials.
o Maintain client relationships, ensuring client loyalty and retention through excellent client service as well as meeting all client needs appropriate to their business.
o Complete Annual Reviews with clients.
o Thoroughly review company published research on alternative assets on a timely basis. Be prepared and able to comment on any component of companies services and advice.
o Participate in regular conference calls and meetings with clients and/or analysts. Act as company representative at client board or investment committee meetings and other formal or information consultation. Work with other assigned client service group to produce documents relevant to these meetings.
o Where necessary, meet with alternative asset managers and provide written summary in form of reports and strategy summaries. Assist in the preparation of company Strategy Timing reports (Quarterly Strategy Forecasts, and 5-year Forecasts).
o Undertake bespoke fund, strategy and portfolio level research where appropriate to satisfy client requests. Prepare portfolio, strategy and fund level presentations for clients - ensuring data accuracy and complete coverage.
o Maintain good relationship with clients and a strong understanding of assigned clients objectives and goals related to their investments in alternative assets.
o Identify cross-selling opportunities based on clients interests.
What Were Looking For
o Background allocating to alternatives strategies such as Private Equity, Private Credit and Hedge Funds.
o Strong presentation and communication skills, with a genuine desire to collaborate with clients and colleagues. True client service orientation.
o Willingness to be a continuous learner within Alternative investments, and to stay at the forefront of industry developments.
o Possession of relevant professional qualifications (CFA, CAIA, CPA, MBA)
o Proactive self-starter, proficient time and project management, and strong multi-tasking.
o Commitment to be physically present in our Stamford office for team days at least three days a week.
