Information technology is an integral part of the strategic initiatives for all the Core Business Functions at IFC. Corporate Information Technologies (CIT) Teams provide comprehensive IT support for IFC's Investment & Advisory Services, Financial Operations, Treasury & the Asset Management Company.

A robust engagement model with business ensures prioritization of the business requirements & focus on delivery. The application landscape encompasses a wide variety of in-house and customized COTS products which meet the business needs of IFC departments.

CIT's Architecture Unit (CITAT) is seeking an Information Officer – Generative AI Product Owner to successfully deliver transformative and impactful digital products for the organization. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver digital products that align with stakeholder objectives.

By leveraging your expertise, you will drive the execution of innovative solutions that not only meet but exceed stakeholder expectations. You will play a key role in bridging the gap between product requirements and technical capabilities, ensuring delivery as per agreed schedules, solution design, and enterprise guidelines.

Duties & Accountabilities:

  • Lead the Generative AI Program: Manage end-to-end development, deployment, and scaling of Generative AI solutions to enhance operational efficiency, innovation, and client engagement.
  • Develop Technical Strategies: Design frameworks for integrating Generative AI tools (e.g., LLMs, multimodal systems) into business processes, prioritizing use cases with measurable impact.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Partner with data scientists, software engineers, and business units to translate requirements into scalable AI-driven workflows and applications.
  • Ensure Ethical AI Practices: Establish guardrails to mitigate biases, ensure transparency, and align solutions with WBG AI Risk Framework.
  • Monitor Emerging Trends: Continuously evaluate advancements in Generative AI technologies (e.g., architecture improvements, regulatory shifts) and recommend adoption strategies.
  • Facilitate Stakeholder Communication: Clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences, including leadership and external partners, to build consensus and secure buy-in.
  • Oversee/Implement Pilot Projects: Manage testing, validation, and iteration of prototypes, ensuring alignment with user needs and organizational risk policies.
  • Identify Risks and Mitigations: Proactively address technical, ethical, and operational risks tied to Generative AI deployment.
  • Maintain Documentation: Ensure thorough documentation of models, processes, and decision-making protocols for auditability and knowledge sharing.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Facilitation: Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, and presentations across various teams (business, IT, Compliance, etc.) to drive project decisions and actions.
  • Technical Product Backlog and Roadmap Management: Create and maintain the technical product backlog and product roadmap.
  • Sprint Planning and Technical Requirement Definition: Participate in sprint planning meetings to define the technical requirements.
  • Solution Lifecycle Oversight and Contribution: Oversee and contribute to multiple solution lifecycles from conception through launch and beyond, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.
  • Product System Design: Architect scalable, reliable, and maintainable product systems, ensuring they meet enterprise architecture standards.
  • Cloud and DevOps Integration: Leverage cloud platforms (Azure) and implement DevOps practices (CI/CD, infrastructure as code) to enhance product deployment and operations.
  • Seamless Product Integration: Integrate the product with diverse systems and services, including third-party APIs and legacy systems, to ensure seamless functionality and interoperability.
  • Technical Product Documentation: Create detailed architectural documentation and diagrams to ensure the product design is clear and adheres to enterprise standards.
  • Cross-Functional Team Collaboration: Work effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA, product managers, and stakeholders, to ensure cohesive product development.
  • Agile Methodologies: Utilize Agile/Scrum methodologies to facilitate iterative development, continuous feedback, and rapid delivery of product features.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Articulate technical concepts and architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding.
  • Collaborative Decision-Making: Facilitate collaborative decision-making processes, ensuring that diverse perspectives are considered, and the best solutions are implemented for the product.
Selection Criteria
  • Education: Master's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field with at least 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Generative AI Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in AI/ML technologies, including hands-on experience with generative models (e.g., LLMs, multimodal systems) and their practical applications, using frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras and LLM models (Azure OpenAI, Google Gemini, etc.)
  • Programming & Tools: Advanced skills in Python, Databricks and opensource tools to build Gen AI solution.
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP): Demonstrated experience with text generation, summarization, and tokenization techniques.
  • Cloud & MLOps: Familiarity with scalable cloud infrastructure (Azure or AWS) and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) for AI model lifecycle management.
  • Data Governance: Ability to design data pipelines compliant with privacy regulations and organizational policies.
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience leading sprint-based development and iterative prototyping.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in dynamic environments, balancing innovation with risk-aware decision-making.
  • Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA, product managers, and stakeholders.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts and architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Conflict Resolution: Ability to mediate and resolve conflicts within the team, ensuring a collaborative and productive working environment.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in Agile methodologies Product management (such as Scrum Product Owner or Agile Product Manager),
  • Decision-Making: Proficiency in facilitating collaborative decision-making processes, ensuring diverse perspectives are considered.
