Sr. Accountant

We are looking for a Sr. Analyst to join our team in the Financial Services industry based in CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity where the Sr. Analyst will be responsible for assessing controls, reviewing issue papers, and maintaining accurate investment accounting records.

Responsibilities:

• Review and assess financial controls to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Write and review issue papers as part of the accounting process
• Maintain detailed and accurate investment accounting records
• Reconcile account balances and bank statements
• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
• Conduct month-end close procedures efficiently
• Utilize Oracle, SAP, and NetSuite for various accounting tasks
• Operate Microsoft Excel to organize and present data
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations regularly
• Handle account reconciliation tasks accurately.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required for data analysis and reporting
• Prior experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP is essential
• In-depth knowledge of general ledger functions and procedures
• Expertise in account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation is necessary
• Familiarity with bank reconciliation procedures
• Experience with journal entries preparation and posting
• Ability to handle month-end close procedures efficiently
• A solid understanding of financial services industry standards and regulations
• Excellent analytical skills to interpret and analyze financial data
• Strong communication skills to liaise with other departments and external parties
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in work
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
