Staff Accountant

This Staff Accountant position is a long term contract role.

Responsibilities:

• Reconciling accounts to ensure their accuracy
• Preparing and running reports for auditors as needed
• Assisting in the month-end close process to ensure timely completion
• Providing support for Accounts Payable tasks as required
• Utilizing MS Great Plains and Microsoft Excel for various tasks
• Handling large data sets in Excel and summarizing the data using functions like sumifs, lookups, and pivot tables
• Working with job costing in a manufacturing setting, if experienced in this area
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with established accounting standards and procedures
• Responding to inquiries and resolving issues as they arise
• Collaborating with other members of the accounting team to ensure smooth operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry
• Proficiency in bank reconciliations, general ledger, and journal entries
• Experience in month end close process
• Familiarity with MS Great Plains Accounting software is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Previous experience with job costing in a manufacturing environment is a plus
• Must possess strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within accounting field
