2024 Edgewood Borough Police Department Hiring Notice
The Edgewood Police Department will be conducting competitive testing for the position of full-time police officer. Test day registration will begin promptly at 8:45am, Tuesday October 15, 2024, at the Allegheny County Police Academy, 700 W Ridge Rd, Allison Park, PA 15101.The physical agility test is scheduled to begin at 9:00am, with the Written Examination to immediately follow. All applicants must provide photo identification at the testing site to be admitted to the test. The applicant must pass all elements of the Physical Agility Test to be eligible to take the Written Examination.
Failure of any of the events in the Physical Agility Test is a failure of the entire test. If one event is failed, the testing process is terminated for the applicant at that point.
QUALIFIED APPLICANTS SHALL MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:- United States Citizen
- High School diploma
- Possess a four (4) year post-secondary education, or three (3) years’ experience in law enforcement agency.
- Successfully completed Act 120 MPOETC from accredited academy
- Must have reached twenty-first (21st) birthday prior to submitting completed application.
- Possess a valid driver’s license from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Pass a comprehensive background check.
- Must be available to work shifts, holidays and weekends.

- 2023 Starting Salary $62,638.84
- 2024 Top Patrol Salary $ 89,484.07
- 2024 Top Patrol Salary & 91,944.88
