We are currently seeking a dedicated SQL Database Developer for a contract role working hybrid in the Chicagoland Metro area. This would be an individual who is proficient in managing and optimizing large complex databases. This challenging role involves a significant amount of hands-on experience, teamwork, and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, code, and implement highly scalable and reliable database applications.
2. Develop complex SQL queries, subqueries, and join operations.
3. Create, manage, and optimize database objects including tables, views, and procedures.
4. Perform data modeling, database optimization, understanding, and implementing schema.
5. Implement measures for data security such as access controls and SQL injection prevention.
6. Regularly perform performance tuning and query optimization for efficient data retrieval.
7. Coordinate with management and team members to ascertain project needs and goals.
8. Serve as an escalation point for database issues and queries.

Qualifications:

1. Located in Chicago, or can commute to Chicago
2. Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
3. 3-5 years of IT database experience.
4. Strong experience in designing and coding database programs using SQL.
5. Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, understanding joins, and subqueries.
6. Sound understanding of managing database objects like tables and views.
7. Proven experience in data modeling, performance tuning, query optimization.
8. Expertise in implementing measures to ensure data security.
9. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
