Sunshine Disposal & Recycling has an opening for a Journeyman Diesel Mechanic. This job is full-time Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm shift. Sign on Bonus of $500 after 60 days of employment and $500 after completion of 12 months of employment. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the essential duties/responsibilities listed below.- Conduct preventative maintenance of all SDR trucks and equipment. This includes daily inspecting, greasing and basic maintenance for road worthiness and effective use on routes and at various locations.
- Prepare and complete paperwork or computer data entry for all service and repair work for documentation and record keeping purposes. This includes maintenance issues documented during pre and post trip truck inspections. Ensure all records are compliant with Dept. of Transportation rules and company policies.
- Perform repairs and/or maintenance on trucks and equipment in the following areas: hydraulics, cylinders, brake repair, and electrical systems, engines and body (may include welding).
- Perform service on vehicles and equipment at predetermined intervals in accordance with company policies, manufacturer specifications and any/all applicable local, state, and federal guidelines/regulations.
- Perform all other duties and special projects for management team members as assigned.
- Attend all necessary meetings as scheduled including safety, training and other company scheduled meetings.
