Overview:
This position requires strong business acumen, proactive leadership, and the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders. The selected candidate will be responsible for collaborating across functional organizations and clearly articulating business performance such as cost trends (orders, sales, profit, and cash), manpower, variance analysis, and identification of risks.Stakeholder would include Program Finance Analysts as well as Program Managers, Product Line Directors, and Financial Leadership, and Site Vice President both at the local as well as at the IDS Division level.
The selected candidate must also be able to work under deadlines and constraints as well as have the ability to multitask across two Product Lines. This position requires the ability to provide top level program planning guidance as well as the ability to summarize, package, and present information to all levels of management.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and analyzing program estimates at complete (EACs) for Gross Margin adjustments.
- Participate in the development of budgets (spend plans) for assigned programs and perform financial analysis on funding profiles and program financial variances.
- Works closely with program managers and cost center managers in planning and budgeting work, tracking actual incurred spending, anticipated to go spending, and expected profit margins.
- Developing time-phased program baselines to track cost and schedule for a portfolio of programs.
- Tracking material expenditures from a consolidated bill of material (CBOM) and monitoring production touch labor.
- Utilizing data collection and reporting systems to provide weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reporting to support internal and external customers.
- Providing variance analysis and assessing program risks and opportunities.
- Forecasting, budgeting, and analyzing key program metrics (Orders, Sales, Gross Margin, Shipments, Cash) analysis and reporting to senior leadership.
- Planning and supporting Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long-Range Strategic Plan (LRSP).
- Working collaboratively with program team and senior leadership to generate and present financial metrics on program performance.
- Provides forecast, budget, EAC, variance explanations and performance monitoring.
- Support of all closing activities.
- Support government (DCAA, DCMC), internal and external audits.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in financial analysis focusing on Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) or Program Finance.
- 5+ years of experience in developing and analyzing program estimates at complete (EACs) for Gross Margin adjustments.
- Advanced Microsoft Access and Excel skills (macros, SUMIFS, database queries, automation, etc.)
- This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a “US Person” under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
Preferred:
- Prior work experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) concepts, related systems, and processes.
- Prior experience with Financial Data Analytics, such as (Dashboards, Power BI, etc.)
- Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
- Budgeting and variance analysis.
- Risk and Opportunity Analysis.
- Knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to package complex data into a format suitable for executive review.
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive, creative, and innovative and use critical and strategic thinking.
- Demonstrated ability to establish processes to drive efficiencies and improve performance.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a team environment.
- Demonstrated sense of urgency and ability to meet multiple commitments as expected.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint).
Salary Range: $140,000- $170,000 Annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
