Pharmacy Technician Coordinator - Full Time

Works in conjunction with the Pharmacy Manager and/or Director to coordinate the daily activities of the Pharmacy technicians, including, but not limited, to coordination of work schedules, training and workflow, as well as provide administrative support to the pharmacy team.
Responsibilities:
A day in the life of a Pharmacy Technician Coordinator at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
- Coordinate workflow for pharmacy technicians.
- Create and maintain daily work grids and monthly technician schedules.
- Support the pharmacy management in the training of new pharmacy personnel with all procedures
- Coordinate team member daily and monthly training schedules.
- Schedule and arrange/provide for coverage of pharmacy operation staff.
- Ensure appropriate staffing during call-ins, inclement weather, or periods of increased workload.
- Ensure all technician staff follow policies and procedures.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with technician monthly unit inspections.
- Monitor and enforce technician compliance with mandatory competencies
- Coordinate vacation request and approval process for pharmacy team.
- Manage onboarding new team members.
- Manage onboarding students.
- Performs tasks associated with automated equipment and maintains appropriate records as designated.
- Work together with the pharmacy management on issues relating to technician support across the pharmacy.
- Assists Pharmacy Management in meeting regulatory requirements for the department, including maintaining appropriate documentation as required by regulatory agencies.
- Timekeeper for department and processes Payroll.
- Process PTO/LOA(s) and PTU time for pharmacy team
- Purchase pharmaceuticals from wholesaler and Direct Manufacturers in absence of buyer
- Purchase supplies for the pharmacy department.
- Provides administrative support for Pharmacy Leadership, Pharmacy Clinical Team, Residency Director, and Research Pharmacist.
Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
- Three years Hospital experience with knowledge of unit dose dispensing and IV admixtures
- Must be comfortable using multiple software programs
- Must be organized and possess effective time management skills
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- Valid New Jersey Pharmacy Technician Registration
- Valid Certification from PTCB or equivalent
