Tax Preparer

Proficiency in using UltraTax and Microsoft Excel software is mandatory as they are the foundation of our operations. The primary task for this position would be processing 1040 forms.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and process federal and state individual 1040 tax returns for our diverse client base.
2. Utilize UltraTax software to accurately prepare tax returns and related tasks.
3. Review financial records such as income statements and expenses to ensure all calculations are correct.
4. Identify potential tax credits and liabilities and ensure accurate and complete returns are filed in a timely manner.
5. Answer ad-hoc client queries regarding tax codes and potential tax implications.
6. Prepare tax payment schedules and help clients create budget plans to meet tax payment deadlines.
7. Provide accurate, timely, and valuable tax advice to clients.
8. Ensure client data confidentiality and adhere to strict data security protocols.
9. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and the latest tax laws.

Job Requirements:

1. A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in tax preparation.
2. Proficiency in using UltraTax and Microsoft Excel software.
3. Strong understanding of the tax code, deductions, and liability requirements.
4. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
5. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
6. Proven ability to meet strict deadlines.
7. Current knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
8. Outgoing, professional, and able to relate to diverse clientele.
