Role: System Analyst/Programmer
Location: Long Island, NY

Overview of Your Role

This role is responsible for the design, development, coding, testing, debugging and documenting of programs, systems, and procedures used by Client in conjunction with our Core and ancillary systems. The programmer provides training to users on system enhancements and changes.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities
  • - Ability to program in Symitar PowerOn language and/or have an aptitude in developing in Java, XML,.Net or other server-side cross-platform languages
  • Assists employees in solving routine system software, hardware, and procedure problems by utilizing technology to automate processes and improve efficiencies when possible.
  • Develop systems and tools to support process efficiencies, enhance revenue generation, improve member satisfaction and enhance the quality and availability of information needed to make business decisions
  • Controls the integrity of all referenced, manipulated, and output data.
  • Develops and maintains documentation to provide clear understanding of the purpose and operational procedures of the program.
  • Develops Management reports in support of Credit Union business units utilizing PowerOn or MS SQL reporting services.
  • Modifies existing software to meet branch and/or department employee’s requirements. Maintains and modifies code that is in production to comply with system changes and new credit union specifications. Debugs existing code to ensure minimal user downtime and maintain maximum member service
  • Maintains regular contact with Management to ensure a complete understanding of system requirements and goals.
  • Develops, programs and/or modifies electronic forms utilizing appropriate programming language
  • Administers Credit Union data warehouse and develops reporting to assist business units with decision making. Manage updates when required

Credentials, Experience and Skills
  • Job Requires a BA or BS in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems or equivalent work experience with equal responsibilities. Minimum of three years of computer programming experience required. Formal training should be supplemented with ongoing continuing education
  • Computer Skills: Symitar / Episys Programming language and components preferred, not required
