Job Description:
Our client, in Cherry Hill, NJ is seeking a highly-motivated and experienced Structural Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will have experience with structural steel and foundation design in heavy industrial engineering projects, preferably in the process industries.The successful candidate will possess the skills necessary to build and manage a structural engineering department from the ground up.
This person will execute various projects, oftentimes simultaneously, in conjunction with the Mechanical and Electrical Departments, serving our current clients in oil & gas, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, power generation, heavy industrial and manufacturing industries.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- May serve as project manager and/or as structural discipline lead, including responsibility for preparing and managing project schedules, plans, budgets, and deliverables.-
Work with clients to understand their needs and develop solutions, including professional services cost estimates and scopes of work, that meet their requirements.-
Field engineering and structural inspection.-Providing direction to designers in developing complete structural design packages, including calculations, models, detailed design documents and specifications, installation details, connection details.-
Performing analytical modeling of new and existing structures and components.-
Performing engineering feasibility studies and developing total installed cost estimates.-
Ensuring project deliverables meet the project requirements, the client specifications, and standards, and our technical and quality standards.-
Stay current with emerging trends in technologies and standards related to structural engineering and design in the process industry.-
Collaborate with other engineers, designers, technicians, project managers, and other disciplines to ensure successful execution of the project.-
Providing technical support and guidance to clients, fabricators and field personnel.-
Reviewing vendor drawings, calculations and submittals as required by the project scope.-
Representing the company to the client and to our partners, including collaboration with other engineering disciplines, suppliers/vendors, the trades, and field personnel.-
Help grow the business by identifying new opportunities and expanding our services.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of New Jersey, with the ability to seek licensure in multiple states.
Minimum of 8-10 years of prior relevant engineering experience is required, with preference given to individuals exposed to heavy industrial environments.
Proven experience with structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and foundation design, including knowledge and experience with relevant codes and standards (including applicable building codes).
Experience with structural analysis software, such as STAAD, RISA, SkyCiv, etc.
Strong foundation in engineering principles with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Additional Experience Preferred:
Experience with civil design as it relates to heavy industrial applications, including tank farm liners and containment systems.
Experience with AutoCAD and associated civil/structural packages.

Condition of Employment:The candidate must have the ability to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) and pass drug testing, and a background check. The successful candidate will be required to make occasional field visits (local and remote) to industrial clients and must have a valid Driver's license.
