Position Summary:

As a Senior Product Development Engineer in Energizer’s Global Auto Care R&D Team, you will support existing automotive brands by developing new and enhanced products, improving existing products, and supporting manufacturing. A successful candidate will have a proven track record in leading technical projects and a background relevant to auto refrigerant systems and/or pressurized gas delivery systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead new product development of electronic, mechanical and refrigerant product systems (ie gauges, valves), working with internal cross functional team members as well as external design agencies and suppliers in order to deliver innovation to our brand
  • Act as resident expert on refrigerant gases and work with procurement on long term sourcing strategies
  • Develop product innovation roadmap for auto refrigerant recharge systems and products
  • Lead product improvement projects to realize cost, quality, performance, or supply benefits for existing products
  • Develop working prototypes for concept development
  • Plan, execute, analyze and summarize plant trials working closely with Manufacturing, engineering, and production technical resources
  • Define and conduct development testing to ensure readiness for production, distribution, customer and consumer fit for use
  • Ensure product meets relevant national, international and industry standards
  • Conduct engineering analysis using appropriate methods, such as calculation, testing or FEA
  • Maintain accurate, complete and detailed records including product data sheets
  • Support technical organization as needed to resolve consumer or production technical issues

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelors in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline
  • 5+ years experience of technical laboratory, product development or manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years project leadership experience
  • Participate in occasional teleconference meetings with global colleagues in different time zones
  • Travel up to 25%
What we would prefer (not required)
  • Experience or aptitude with chemical and/or mechanical systems, aerosol products, automotive HVAC systems and/or refrigerant systems
  • EPA Certification

Total Rewards Package: The salary range for this position is USD $76,000.00/Yr. - USD $121,000.00/Yr.

Actual base salary offered to a candidate may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
