Responsibilities:
JOB DUTIES- Maintain product quality by analyzing manufacturing and engineering requirements and devising testing methods and procedures
- Establish product quality documentation by writing and implementing quality assurance procedure
- Interact with the leadership group, production team members, and maintenance departments to improve and maximize plant output, efficiency, quality and safety
- Manage Quality Control Program that ensures that product is inspected to meet acceptable safety quality standards
- Maintain, achieve, and record internal quality targets and measurements
- Ensure Production and other support areas of the plant are maintained to highest standards and in strict conformation to GMP standards
- Achieve quality targets and ensures accurate records of quality compliance
- Ensures the cleanliness, sanitation and overall organization of manufacturing areas
- Collect and analysis samples taken from production and the field
- Provide audit support as assigned
- Prepare and facilitate product sensory evaluations
- Ensures consistency with quality standards, practices, and policies
- Support change efforts at manufacturing plant to improve and enhance quality systems
- Support training of quality procedures throughout the plant
- Communicate with production regarding productivity status and discrepancy
- Perform other duties assigned by Executive Management to support the department
- Safeguards and maintains company equipment and property, including Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
- Ensures all areas are always kept clean
- Attends all company training sessions; and Other duties as assigned
- Follow GMP Policy - wear company issued shirt, hat, safety glasses, earplugs and hairnet in production areas
- Able to obtain HACCP, SQF practitioner and IBWA certification (within 1 year)
- Able to perform root cause analysis
- Able to communicate and work well with people on all levels of the organization
- Able to receive, analyze and report out information efficiently
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- 2-4 years – Experience in food processing
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must read, write and communicate in English.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work under pressure in a very fast paced environment
- Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) – ability to follow laboratory SOPs.
- Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDPs) - ability to keep proper records.
- Strong computer literacy – MS applications, databases.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills - ability to analyze large amounts of data and determine deficiencies
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must be able to work up to 12-hour shift (days or nights) on a rotating schedule
- Must be able to taste all foods with no aversions or allergies.
- 5-7 years – Experience in food processing and quality assurance
- Associate degree or B.S. Degree in related field
- HACCP Certification
- Knowledge of OSHA laws and regulations
This position is classified as Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime). The expected hourly rate for this position is between $20.00 – $23.00 per year based on a full-time schedule. Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting the actual hourly rate.
