Project Manager – Workforce Strategy (St. Louis, MO)

This position supports workforce strategy initiatives within our client's organization, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with client expectations. This is an in-person role based in St. Louis, MO, with an anticipated start February 2025.
Position Overview:
The Project Manager – Workforce Strategy will plan, execute, and close workforce and economic development projects, collaborating closely with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, and corporate partners.The ideal candidate has proven experience in workforce strategy, stakeholder engagement, and delivering high-impact initiatives.
This position reports directly to the CEO and offers the opportunity for a contract-to-permanent role with benefits.
This position offers a salary range of $75,000–$90,000, commensurate with experience, with opportunities for long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Develop detailed project timelines and deliverables, ensuring alignment with internal teams and external partners.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Lead regular check-ins with stakeholders to provide updates, gather feedback, and maintain alignment.
- Workforce Development: Design and support initiatives related to training programs, apprenticeship models, and employment pathways.
- Data Management and Reporting: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to workforce outcomes, analyze trends, and prepare reports for leadership and clients.
- Problem-Solving: Proactively address project roadblocks and stakeholder concerns, adjusting plans as needed.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with program coordinators, data analysts, and other team members to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Documentation: Maintain clear records of project activities, milestones, and outcomes for internal and external use.
Required Skills:
- Project Management Expertise:
- Proven experience managing workforce or economic development projects.
- Familiarity with project management tools like Microsoft Project, Trello, or similar software.
- Workforce Development Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of workforce strategy, including training programs, apprenticeship models, and employment pathways.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders such as government agencies, community organizations, and corporate partners.
- Analytical and Strategic Thinking:
- Ability to analyze workforce data, identify trends, and develop actionable strategies.
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting updates to leadership.
- Problem-Solving:
- Adaptability to challenges with innovative solutions.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP or PRINCE2).
- Experience in St. Louis or familiarity with the local economic and workforce landscape.
- Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in workforce programs.
- Background in working on municipal or government-funded projects.
