Safety Officer

Simeon Global Consulting is seeking a Safety Officer responsible for overseeing workplace safety and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations across the organization. This role involves developing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and implementing safety training programs.The Safety Officer works closely with operational teams to mitigate hazards, promote safe practices, and ensure a safe working environment during all phases of projects and operations. This position plays a crucial role in disaster response and recovery missions, ensuring the health and safety of personnel in challenging and dynamic environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Compliance: Ensure organizational adherence to all health and safety regulations and standards. Monitorcompliance with OSHA and other applicable safety guidelines.
- Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify potential hazards in the workplace, conduct risk assessments, and develop strategies to mitigate risks. Implement safety protocols and procedures to reduce the risk of injury.
- Training & Education: Develop and conduct safety training programs for all staff, ensuring that personnel are aware of safety practices and emergency procedures.
- Incident Response: Lead investigations of workplace incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work with operational and management teams to integrate safety measures into project planning and execution. Communicate safety concerns and updates clearly to all levels of the organization.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2-4 years of experience in safety management or a related role.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience conducting safety training and risk assessments.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification as a Safety Professional (CSP) or similar credential.
- Experience in disaster response and emergency management safety protocols.
- Knowledge of incident investigation techniques and safety reporting tools.
Additional Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Must reside in the state of Florida.
- Must pass a background check upon offer of employment.
- Must be willing and able to travel to various work sites as needed.
- Must be willing and able to work long hours and adapt to changing environments.
