Overview:

Community First is looking for a Peer Support Specialist to join our team in Hamilton Ohio!

Provides needed Peer Support services to clients that may include adults or geriatrics, and their families. Clients may also undergo treatment for co-occurring mental health diagnoses. Ensures services provided are complaint with standards in the areas of Peer Support service provision and within the guidelines set forth by the Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services Board, Joint Commission, and the COSSUP grant.
Collaborates with internal team members and external agencies/contacts to ensure quality services are delivered to clients. Peer support specialist will provide services in a variety of community and office settings in coordination with the Court Care/COSSUP Coordinator position.

This position is primarily based in the community going to Butler County Jail, Butler County Courts, area hospitals, other surrounding community agencies, & community resource fairs.

Schedule: Full Time

Pay: Starts at $16 per hour and goes up based on experiance

**MUST BE ABLE TO TRAVEL TO VARIOUS LOCATIONS WITHIN THE COMMUNITY**

Responsibilities:

  • Provides group, individual, and/or family support.
  • Provides community support to include, but not limited to monitoring, support, resource allocation, and education.
  • Completes documentation in accordance with agency policy standards in the electronic health record
  • Prepares accurate written reports and correspondence for referral sources and other relevant parties as needed.
  • Maintains adherence to all ethical and legal standards of practice.
  • Meet billable productivity expectation set by the agency
  • Consults with team members, courts, community agencies, and families, with valid release.
  • Submits written reports regarding clients, program outcomes and services.
  • Abides by the company Always Behaviors each and every day as we serve our clients, colleagues, and community.

All other duties as assigned and/or appropriate to the position.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Licenses or other required certifications: Must be a Certified Peer Support Specialist through the State of Ohio. Must have a valid driver’s license, provide proof of auto insurance, and have the ability to maintain active auto insurance coverage.

Experience: Prior experience of one to two years in providing support to chemical dependent individuals is preferred but not required. Two years of continued sobriety if chemically dependent.

  • Skills and competence to establish supportive and trusting relationships
  • Possess the ability to work with colleagues, clients, and family members with tact and professionalism
  • Ability and willingness to cooperate, work, and communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and outside agencies/contacts
  • Computer literate and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interposal communication skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including early or later hours
