Laundry and Dishroom Attendant, Part-time
This person will perform dishwashing, laundering, kitchen help and clean-up duties in the kitchen and storeroom areas of the School of Business, Arts and Sciences. This position is casual part-time and work hours not to exceed 18 hours/week. May work up to 37.5 hours in the summer only. This position must have a flexible schedule necessary to support restaurant hours and hospitality events.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION- High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred
- Some food service experience. Preferred
- Ability to perform simple tasks following oral instruction. Required
- Ability to read gauges or be trained to do so. Required
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation procedures. Preferred
- Familiarity with proper care of food service equipment. Preferred
Responsibilities:
- Wash pots, pans and food service utensils.
- Scrape, stack, wash, and sort dishes in dishwasher.
- Maintain the dishroom and kitchen areas clean and orderly fashion.
- Transport heavy pots, equipment, and supplies between storage and kitchen work areas.
- Wash, iron, and fold napkins, linens, towels, and aprons. Stock kitchen and labs with aprons and towels.
- Comply with all safety and sanitation procedures in the performance of duties.
- Clean refrigerators and other equipment as needed.
- Assist the Storeroom Attendant with receiving and storing food and supplies.
- Wash, peel, and slice vegetables and fruits as needed.
- Inform chefs when chemicals are needed for laundry and dish room.
- Assist Chefs with catering food preparation as needed.
Physical Standards and Special Job Features:
- Neat and clean grooming and hygiene habits.
- Some heavy lifting not to exceed 50 lbs.
- Some exposure to cleaning chemicals and detergents
Pay Transparency: $12.74 per hour.
