R&D Senior Food Safety Scientist - Food Safety Continuous Improvement

At PepsiCo, what makes you unique, makes us better!This role will be responsible for conducting gap assessments and verification of PepsiCo food safety programs (food safety plan/HACCP, pathogen environmental monitoring, sanitation, allergens, physical hazards, etc.) in support of food safety program continuous improvement for PepsiCo North America manufacturing facilities.
This position will reside within the Food Safety Center of Excellence (FSCoE) organization, reporting to the Director of Food Safety Continuous Improvement. This position will be working with subject matter experts within the FSCoE and with PFNAs Supply Chain Quality and Food Safety organization.Responsibilities* Conduct review of manufacturing lines as per identified risk matrix or series of events.
Partner with plant QC personnel and relevant SMEs to identify source(s) of risk or contamination and develop a mitigation plan that includes monitoring to verify effectiveness of CAPA.* Close food safety and quality gaps through corrections & corrective actions at site and corporate levels, assist site with changes to food safety plan and preventive controls, and identify investment needs and strategies for preventive actions.* Assist in identifying tools and/ or creating processes to drive consistency and accuracy of metrics reporting.* Collaborate with other FSCoE teams as needed to drive our Faster, Stronger, & Better food safety agenda.* Voice your opinion fearlessly & be a change ambassador.* Ability to travel up to 60% (primarily in North America).Compensation and Benefits:* The expected compensation range for this position is between $76,400 - $127,850.* Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary.

Low moisture foods experience is a plus.* Direct experience in food safety, pathogen environmental monitoring, food microbiology, and sanitation in food manufacturing is a plus.* PCQI certification and/ or working knowledge of food safety hazard and risk assessment is a plus* Microsoft Office suite proficient.PowerBI experience is a plus.* Demonstrated track record of delivering quality results in a dynamic environment.* Team-oriented person with experience in collaborating with supply chain and R&D associates.* Ability to develop positive working relationships with others and work collaboratively to accomplish goals.* Driven, capable of managing multiple priorities.* Strong organizational and data management skills.
