Key Responsibilities:

1. Payroll Processing

• Accurately process weekly, biweekly, or monthly payroll for employees, including regular, overtime, and bonus pay
• Ensure payroll calculations comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Review and resolve discrepancies in timesheets, pay rates, and hours worked.

1. Compliance & Regulations

• Stay updated on changes in tax and labor laws to ensure payroll compliance
• Submit payroll tax payments and filings in a timely manner.
• Manage employee tax forms, including W-4s, W-2s, and garnishments, where applicable.

1. Systems Management

• Maintain payroll system updates and accuracy, including employee records, deductions, and direct deposits
• Collaborate with IT to resolve technical issues related to payroll systems.

1. Reporting & Auditing

• Generate payroll reports for finance and accounting teams, ensuring accuracy for internal and external audits
• Assist with reconciling payroll accounts, detecting and correcting errors in payroll records.

1. Employee Support

• Respond promptly to employee inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies or processes.
• Educate employees on company payroll policies, tax implications, and benefits-related deductions.
• Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role.
• Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paylocity) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Strong knowledge of payroll best practices, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost professionalism and confidentiality.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with employees and cross-functional departments.
