Position Summary:
Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin (Versiti WI) invites applications for a full-time Associate Medical Director/Medical Director position. The successful candidate will join interdisciplinary team of physicians & scientists who oversee the Versiti Diagnostic Hematology laboratories including hemostasis, platelet and neutrophil immunology and hematology genetics.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities for this position: clinical and scientific direction to include case review, clinical consultation, and associated assay development. Responsible for delegated regulatory duties under CLIA. Participate in educational initiatives and clinical/applied research within both Versiti and its affiliated health systems.
Versiti is an affiliation of blood centers in Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio, including the Versiti Blood Research Institute which is in the Milwaukee area. The latter is the largest blood focused research institute in the United States which houses over 30 basic, translational, and clinical researchers.The annual number of blood donors across Versiti is more than 500,000.
Qualifications:
Required Experience:
- M.D. or D.O. Degree, Board certified in Clinical Pathology or combined Clinical and Anatomic Pathology
- M.D. or D.O. or M.D./Ph.D. with clinical training and board certification in adult or pediatric hematology will also be considered.
- Laboratory hematology experience required.
- Current or eligible for a medical license in Wisconsin.
