The Office of Youth Employment and Opportunity (YEO) employs, develops, and engages Boston's youth by providing workforce exposure and creating opportunities for personal and professional growth. Our goal is to build a future where youth are educated, equipped, and empowered to successfully transition into adulthood by connecting them to work experiences that serve as the foundation for their futures.
The Office of Youth Employment and Opportunity (YEO) employs, develops, and engages Boston's youth by providing workforce exposure and creating opportunities for personal and professional growth. Our goal is to build a future where youth are educated, equipped, and empowered to successfully transition into adulthood by connecting them to work experiences that serve as the foundation for their futures.
In the summer of 2024, YEO served 10,427 youth.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:- Assist in the creation, deployment, and analysis of YEO surveys and focus groups.
- Support data tracking and reporting of youth hiring across the city.
- Research and monitor nationwide youth employment programs, workforce and career readiness strategies, and other related youth development areas.
- Contribute to discussions around youth program development, offer recommendations for improvement, and help elevate departmental operational success.
- Participate in career fairs, neighborhood fairs, and partner site visits as needed.
- Perform related work as assigned by the Data, Research, and Evaluation Manager at the Office of Youth Employment and Opportunity (YEO).
- Ability to take initiative and work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Interest in interacting with young people from different cultures and backgrounds.
- Strong communication, organizational, writing, and verbal skills.
- Interested in fields of research, data collection, and analysis.
- High school student, ages 14-18.
- Boston resident.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- CORI & SORI checks are required.
- This seasonal part-time position does not provide insurance benefits.
- Some weekends may be required.
