Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Research Associate I/II to join our dynamic and growing team. The Research Associate I/II will have a unique opportunity to impact both the science and environment of an early-stage biotechnology company.As part of an innovative, intellectually stimulating, and fast-paced team, the Research Associate I/II will help pursue Azalea’s goal of developing the next generation of cell and genome therapies.
The Research Associate I/II position requires on-site work at our world-class laboratory in Berkeley, CA.
The Research Associate I/II will have opportunities for rapid scientific and professional growth, including the opportunity to communicate scientific findings through conference presentations and/or journal publications.

Key Responsibilities- Assist with designing, producing, characterizing, and testing novel therapeutics in mammalian cell lines, primary cell types, and/or animal models.
- Analyze data and communicate results within a team setting.
- Maintain detailed and organized notes and results within an electronic notebook.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as required based on the needs of the company.
- BS/BA and/or MS/MA in molecular or cell biology, bioengineering, or related discipline and at least 1 year of laboratory research experience in academia or industry.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, organization, and work ethic.
- Ability to rapidly learn new technical skills as well as teach others.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and individually in a fast-paced research environment.
- Knowledge or experience with CRISPR-Cas genome editing.
- Experience with molecular cloning, DNA/RNA isolation, tissue culture, flow cytometry, and/or next-generation sequencing (NGS).
- Experience with handling mice and colony maintenance.
