General Summary

Under the direction of the Superintendent of Schools, the Assistant Director of Education will be responsible for data, assessment, and accreditation of our diocesan and parish schools. This position provides assistance with upholding and advancing the CSO and individual schools' Catholic mission, core values, instructional program, pupil services and school/community relations.

The successful candidate will be a part of a team that seeks to help the Catholic schools in the Diocese of Providence continue to grow in excellence.

Candidate should be a disciple of Jesus Christ committed to the mission of the Church to "go and make disciples."

Duties and Responsibilities

Job Goal:
  • Responsible for accurately collecting, organizing, analyzing and reporting student and school improvement data
  • Responsible for guiding schools to excellence through data informed decision making, optimized assessment strategies, and the accreditation process

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes and prepares reports from school, parish, diocese, and state data as it relates to school improvement
  • Analyzes and prepares reports from school, parish, diocese, and state data as it relates to student performance
  • Interprets and reviews assessment data with administrators and teachers; supports planning of action steps
  • Compiles data from multiple assessments to develop student, grade-level, or school achievement profiles
  • Works with school staff, as needed, in one-on-one and group training sessions
  • Ensures the validity of data generated both in schools and in the CSO
  • Attends, and leads as appropriate, training sessions relative to various technology and initiatives
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the superintendent

Qualifications:

  • A practicing Catholic who is in good standing with the Church
  • Master's degree preferred, Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years educational experience
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in public speaking
  • Able to thrive in a team environment and work collaboratively
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office 365 and other modern technologies
  • Knowledge of data processing software is invaluable
  • Skilled in explaining testing and statistics to administrators, teachers, and families
  • Ability to communicate, both in writing and orally, technical information in a way that is understandable to people without technical or educational training
  • Understanding of laws that govern students' state and federal rights, including but not limited to special education
  • Understanding of Title Funding, allocation, and application process
