Location: USA | Shell Rock, IA
Responsibilities:
Primary Duties & Responsibilities- Be the sole maintenance technician for a small manufacturing plant.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, work orders, equipment drawings/blueprints, building drawings, and electrical schematics to perform required maintenance and service.
- Identify and order required parts from equipment drawings.
- Inspects, diagnoses, and troubleshoots plant and mobile equipment/system problems.
- Perform advanced mechanic skills including, but not limited to, welding, cutting, lubrication, millwright, pneumatics, hydraulics, rigging, and electrical skills to troubleshoot and repair plant and mobile equipment/systems as needed.
- Develop and follow standard work procedures for preventive maintenance programs, recommend spare parts requirements and inventory levels.
- Conduct daily, weekly and monthly equipment inspections/maintenance tasks.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures within the assigned work area.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities with a focus on developing efficient processes.
- Identify safety, quality or operational issues to the appropriate resources.
- Maintain a clean work area and follow all 5S requirements.
- Assist/fill in with production including -Unloading railcars, loading trucks, blending orders, running a coal mill, bagging 50LB bags and supersacks.
- Performs necessary quality assurance checks on production and shipping procedures.
- Follows and enforces all company safety standards.
- Pressure wash and paint plant equipment and buildings as needed.
- Perform routine cleaning/housekeeping including- sweeping, moping, dusting, taking out garbage.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Actively participate/drive the implementation of sustainable improvement processes, such as 5S, Kaizen, Total Productive maintenance (TPM), Daily Management Control, Standard Work, and Problem Solving.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required. 2 Years Industrial Maintenance experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:- Self-Motivated/Driven to learn
- Experience with fabrication, welding, repairs of equipment.
- Experience with hydraulics, motors, airlocks, blowers.
- Experience with electrical work preferred.
- Excellent time management.
- Excellent organization.
- Microsoft Office.
- Ability to perform normal work activities, sight, hearing, and walking.
- Ability to work with minimal guidance.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong involvement in Plant OE – 5S, Standard Work, TPM, etc.
- Continuous education as deemed necessary by the company.
- Occasionally lifting weight up to sixty (60) pounds.
- Climbing flights of stairs and ladders.
- Pushing brooms, shovels, etc.
- Working at heights.
- Working in the elements and temperatures from -20 to +100 degrees.
- Standing or kneeling for extended periods of time.
- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Using hand and power tools.
