This is a great opportunity through Goodwill Commercial Services! The Harrison Village Commissary is located at 9702 E. 59th St., Indianapolis, IN 46216. We are looking to add an assistant site supervisor with the schedule being Tuesday - Saturday (with potentially some Sundays).

The shift is from 6 PM to 3 AM and the position pays $19 per hour. Personal, reliable transportation is needed, as the busses do not run that late in the area. Previous, supervising experience is highly preferred.***

****Job Summary****

The Assistant Site Supervisor, Janitorial Training Program supervises, directs, coordinates, and controls activities of workers engaged in maintaining the cleanliness of the office building or other commercial or institutional buildings. Tasks include training employees, directing their work, ensuring satisfactory completion of work, inspections, addressing customer complaints, and resolving problems.

****Example Duties and Activities****
  • Trains new program participants in janitorial processes, customer service, safety, and quality standards.
  • Directs workers engaged in janitorial duties such as cleaning office areas, classrooms, hallways, lobbies, breakrooms/cafeterias, restrooms, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other assigned work areas.
  • Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications and quality standards.
  • Administers and/or adjusts work instructions to meet customer requirements.
  • Evaluates work processes and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the work crews.
  • Resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates action to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintains departmental records including attendance, timesheets, inspection logs, preventive maintenance, and safety inspections.
  • Confers with other staff and departments to coordinate activities.
  • Assures preventative maintenance of equipment occurs.
  • Manages inventory of supplies and equipment. Selects and orders approved supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Acknowledges building maintenance issues and requests and directs to appropriate departments.
  • Enforces safety regulations.

  • Moderate to Hard Physical Work - is regularly required to walk and frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reaches with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Can manage frequent exposure to dust, dirt, debris, and dust particles in the air. Will be regularly exposed to slippery floors and moving mechanical parts of floor cleaning equipment. The noise level is generally low.
