We are looking for a self-motivated and hands-on IT Systems Manager to join the talented IT Department at Festival Foods. The IT System Engineer Manager leads a gifted team of 5 System Engineers who are responsible for Festival’s enterprise servers, storage, backup/recovery, patch management, data center management and enterprise monitoring across our 55 locations (and growing) in WI.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- The IT System Engineering team is responsible for enterprise servers, storage, backups/recovery, patch management, enterprise monitoring and data center management along with management of our Azure environments.
- Ensure quality control throughout the lifecycle of assigned technology (backups/recovery, availability, monitoring, patch management, configuration management, system documentation, adheres to relevant corporate policies, capacity planning and 3-year roadmap.)
- Manage both strategic initiatives and day-to-day IT operations.
- Provide hands-on leadership, supporting day-to-day technical issues and facilitate technical design sessions.
- Engage with key stakeholders to understand customer needs within the organization and use this information to influence technology backlog, budgets, and technology roadmaps.
- Develop and maintain processes, policies, standards, systems, and measurements that help the organization to effectively manage the technology portfolio both daily and long-term with regards to cost, control, risk, compliance, and business performance objectives.
- Focus on Associate and team development - coach, train, and mentor a team of highly technical engineers.
- Evaluate, analyze and recommend new technologies and vendor products relating to existing and future business requirements.
- Responsible for projects initiated by the System Engineering team. Ensuring the scope is clearly defined, there is an appropriate level project plan, publish regular updates and maintain status updates.
- Develop an action plan to address technology health scorecard gaps based on business and team priorities.
- Responsible for managing team's technical backlog and capacity plan.
- Participate in on-call rotation, ensuring proper resolution to escalated issues.
- Maintain a comprehensive technology roadmap and socialize with key stakeholders regularly.
- Provide input into annual plans and budgets, ongoing spending alignment, and proposing and implementing changes as appropriate.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in professional experience.
- Effective team builder
- Strong problem solving and general analytical skills.
- Strong understanding and enthusiasm for emerging technologies.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Understanding of operational best practices, configuration management, and security controls.
- Ten (10) or more years of IT System Engineering experience.
- Five (5) or more years of people leadership experience.
- The IT Systems Manager is a full-time, salaried position. Will be required to provide on call support (weekends and holidays), and occasional travel as needed.
- Sitting/Standing at a computer 80% of the time.
- Bending, stretching, and occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. is required.
