Accounts Payable Specialist - Galveston

We are a company in the transport industry based in Galveston, Texas, 77552, United States looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a short term contract. In this role, you will be expected to manage various administrative tasks related to accounts payable and vendor contracts.

Responsibilities:

• Updating Vendor contract database, which includes agreements and COIs
• Accurately processing approximately 100 invoices on a weekly basis
• Ensuring the proper three-way matching process for accounts payable
• Using software such as Dynamics, Concur
• Not responsible for reconciliation, check runs, or journal entries
• Handling various accounting functions including accrual accounting and auditing
• Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions
• Proficient in using ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
• Account coding and maintaining accurate customer credit records
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist
• Proficiency in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations for managing business operations and financial activities.
• Proficiency in account coding and understanding of its application in financial transactions.
• Demonstrated expertise in using accounting software systems for managing and processing financial data.
• Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems for streamlined business processes.
• Ability to perform diverse accounting functions with accuracy and efficiency.
• Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) procedures and practices.
• Proficiency in accrual accounting and its application in financial statements and reports.
• Experience in auditing, with the ability to identify discrepancies and ensure financial integrity.
• Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and procedures.
