Senior Analyst
The Center for Career Development at Princeton University is seeking a Senior Analyst to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive data reporting and assessment environment designed to measure attainment of learning outcomes through our programming, resources and advising; and to increase the scale and reach of our career-related post-graduation and summer experience outcomes.
This role oversees all departmental data collection and analysis to measure and report trends on key performance indicators, program assessment and student outcomes. This position also manages the departments overall data usage, storage and integration.This role also contributes to various financial-related functions including: budgeting, forecasting, account reconciliations, processing journal entries and reporting.
Responsibilities: Assessment and Data Analysis (50%)
Lead strategy, development, data compilation, analysis and enhancement of processes for metrics and assessment, including student learning outcomes, graduation/outcomes metrics, advising evaluations, student engagement data and employer feedback
Lead the administration of the University-wide career outcomes survey process in conjunction with Institutional Research, academic units and departments, in order to provide effectiveness in data collection, synthesis, interpretation and visualization
Develop, administer and analyze post-graduation outcomes and Learning and Education through Service (LENS) outcomes and reportsCollaborate with LENS partners and stakeholders across campus to lead institutional understanding of all Princeton internship funding
Design and develop valid assessment items/tools and evaluation methodologies
Use data to drive decision-making with an eye toward continuous improvement
Use technical algorithms, modeling and mathematical calculations to compile and analyze relevant data, creating and presenting narrative reports that address specific questions and/or processes, and communicate trends and conclusionsManage departmental data visualization tool (Tableau) for department and implement strategic reports to best illustrate departmental impact
Work with multiple campus offices and others to partner on data collection and visualization
Data Management (25%)
Manage all departmental data systems and technology, including overseeing the completion of select tasks by other team members
Serve as liaison with the Registrar's Office to ensure student data integrity
Serve as departmental point person for data consistency across all department systems
In partnership with the career advising team, serve as a liaison with academic departments to provide post-graduation outcomes data and reports
Design underlying data structures to facilitate reporting and analysis
Serve as liaison with Institutional Research on post-graduation outcomes and alumni outcomes data and to ensure proper linkages with the Universitys Information WarehouseManage departmental instance of Salesforce and related tools; convene Salesforce user meeting and oversee new uses of the tool to manage departmental data
Budget & Financial Management (20%)
Monitor transactions for Center for Career Development and LENS budgets
Perform account reconciliations and journal entries as necessary
Track budgetary performance and re-forecasts on a monthly basis
Update and share financial performance to managers to inform decision making
Ensure compliance with University financial policies and protocols
Contribute to departmental budget submission
Perform ad hoc financial reporting and analysis
Research (5%)
Conduct a variety of benchmarking projects regarding outcomes and offerings with peer institutions
Analyze student compensation and outcomes data points to recommend areas of future growth in programming and advising
Manage projects to ensure completion of deliverables and adherence to timelines; track milestones and timelines across projects and institute necessary workflow and resource allocations; analyze and resolve issues that have the potential to jeopardize performance and/or ability to meet agreed upon deliverables
Qualifications:
Essential
Advanced proficiency in Excel, data cleaning and manipulationExtensive data visualization experience, and expertise using Tableau (or related tools)
Ability to establish, measure and report program objectives and learning outcomes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; strong attention to detail, ability to work with quantitative and qualitative dataAbility to conduct research, gather and interpret data, and create effective charts, graphs and narrative reports to describe trends
Preferred
Familiarity with Salesforce and relational databasesFamiliarity with Handshake system and ability to create API linkages
Experience with budgeting systems
