Overview:
Carle Health is seeking Neonatal Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to join our Level III NICU team at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.
Responsibilities:Provides health assessment for patients directed toward continuing a state of wellness, establishing the need for intervention, evaluating responses to and outcomes of therapy, and following a mutually agreed upon treatment plan.
Ensures documentation of care is complete and accurate.
Communicates with other health professionals, families, and referral agencies regarding health status and needs of particular patients or patient groups.
Serves as a role model in the enhancement of nursing practice and professional conduct following professional practice guidelines. Responsible for nursing care delivery by patient care support staff.
Collaborates with attending physician during daily rounding for NICU and stepdown patients. Performs procedures, including intubation, arterial puncture, lumbar puncture, percutaneous central line placement, exchange transfusion, umbilical artery and venous placement, ventricular reservoir tap High risk delivery room attendance and resuscitation Orders medications under attending physician Provides education to staff Performs H+P and admission on transitional care nursery and NICU admissions Monitoring of patients in NICU and transitional care nursery Discharges patients from NICU Training for transport team
Qualifications:License/Certifications: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 1 year
