Vp - marketing
The incumbent in this position is responsible for the direction and management of the following operations: Marketing, Special Events, Promotions, Players Club and Player Development. Responsible for achieving revenue, income, market share, and guest service objectives in accordance with corporate policy and Gaming Commission Regulations.
The incumbent is responsible to develop and maintains relationship with existing customers through personal contact in order to generate incremental increases in gaming revenues. Develops and maintains new business relationships to increase awareness, drive trial and build customer loyalty.
Responsibilities:- Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members to provide superior guest service.
- Hires, motivates, evaluates and directs departmental leaders, ensuring team members receive the training, support, adequate guidance and necessary resources to accomplish established objectives.
- Develops and executes marketing plans and programs, both short and long range, designed to attract Slot and Table games patrons.
- Continually evaluates the timely adjustment of marketing strategy and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
- Maintain oversight and strategic direction of Marketing and Player Development departments.
- Develop written plans for Player Development, Executive Hosts, Casino Hosts and VIP Events with measurable goals for growth.
- Recommends changes in basic structure and organization of the marketing group to ensure the effective fulfillment of objectives assigned and provide the flexibility to move swiftly in relation to marketing problems and opportunities.
- Maintain a sales contact system for tracking and evaluating the effectiveness of sales efforts to players.
- Partner with corporate database and property PD and Marketing to build a cooperative esprit de corps among the greater marketing team.
- Ensure VIP database integrity.
- Evaluates player ratings to track visits, arranges accommodations and provides complimentary services according to established guidelines
- Achieves predetermined targeted production quotas, profitability goals and other goals provided by management for room occupancy, entertainment events, special events and gaming revenue.
- Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations.
- Conduct personal behavior and select, train, coach, counsel, appraise and retain direct reports who consistently perform actions and behaviors that reinforce the Company’s Mission.
- Advises property leadership of budgeting requirements, forecasts and overall operating effectiveness.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of marketing policies, procedures and programs.
EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)
10 to 15 years in a similar position and a Bachelor’s in Business, Marketing or related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience. Must have at least ten (10) years of experience in executive-level casino marketing positions; as well as excellent guest service and talent relation skills.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc):
- Must obtain and maintain valid licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
- Must successfully pass background check.
- Must successfully pass drug screening.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Prior experience in the Gaming industry strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in Tribal Gaming preferred.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Understanding and experience in the Northern California’s regional gaming market.
- Gaming marketing functions including, but not limited to database, advertising and branding.
- Operations, services and activities of a comprehensive marketing and database programs.
- The Gaming industry, including principles and practices of a capital and operations budget.
- Procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, email, spreadsheets, and databases to include excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.

- This position spends time on the Casino floor and is subject to varying levels of crowds and noise, and the severity of which depends upon guest volume.

- Conducts themselves in accordance with all Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain company and Player Development departmental policies and procedures.
