Electrical Design Lead
Manufacturer of Rescue Vehicles in Monmouth County is seeking a Direct Hire Electrical Design Lead.
SUMMARY:
This position is primarily responsible for oversight of electrical design content of schematics, harnesses and integration of electrical components for emergency vehicles. Includes logic programming in industry node based multiplex components.Evaluates workloads and schedules and plans for self and team
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
¨ Lead and participate in preparing clear, complete and accurate detailed drawings and schematics for manufacturing of emergency vehicles.
¨ Plan work for self and staff to:
o Produce job electrical design that captures all product requirements for new or existing customers based on sales submissions in appropriate software.
o Review Chassis proposal per customer"s specifications to ensure electrical capability.
o Layout and design schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems and features by using computer assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software.
o Define and release a complete job electrical bill of material in current system following current protocols
o multiplex programming to support electrical interface (when required).
¨ Analyzes various electrical design requirements and recommend possible solutions or alternate constructions.
¨ May coordinate with/or consult with mechanical staff to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
¨ Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
¨ Ensure all necessary electrical documentation is complete such as engineering drawings, bill of materials and related product specifications to allow successful transfer to manufacturing.
¨ May work on design projects that reduce the cost of the product, as well as, designing necessary equipment or fixtures that are needed during the new product development cycle or with installed base product.
¨ Collaborate with sales proposal team to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products and provide sales support.
¨ Establish deadlines to continually support the continuous improvement initiatives within the department
REQUIREMENTS:
Proficiency in the following Software"s:
¨ Solidworks electrical experience or experience in 3D electrical design
¨ AutoCAD or other 2D CAD
¨ EPDM
¨ Outlook
¨ Excel
