Senior Payroll Specialist

Robert Half, a top talent management firm worldwide, is currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Specialist for a temporary position that has the potential to transition into a full-time role.

The candidate will be responsible for all tasks relating to payroll functions. This includes preparation, balancing, internal audit, and control of payroll. You will ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws and union agreements, if applicable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain, prepare, and process multi-state payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies through meticulous collection and analysis of information.
• Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests.
• Coordinate with HR department in workforce administration and maintenance of employee records.
• Adhere to and stay updated about current tax procedures and payroll laws.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in payroll or related field.
• Thorough knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal audit, and control of payroll.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with other payroll software such as ADPWFN, Paylocity, Paychex, etc.
• Exceptional attention to detail, confidentiality, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of basic accounting principles and multi-state tax laws.
