Medical Front Desk Specialist

Robert Half has a contract employment opportunity for a Medical Front Desk Specialist in Newton, Kansas. This role primarily functions within the healthcare industry and requires the specialist to handle various administrative tasks at the front desk, such as data entry, patient registration, and receptionist duties.

This is a PART-TIME position, 32 hours per week- Monday-Thursday 7:45am-4:30pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the registration process of new patients and ensure that their data is accurately entered into the system.
  • Act as the first point of contact for patients, offering a welcoming and supportive environment.
  • Keep patient records up-to-date by regularly reviewing and making necessary changes.
  • Handle patient insurance details, ensuring all information is correctly added and updated as needed.
  • Utilize your data entry skills to maintain accurate and efficient records of all patient interactions.
  • Serve as a crucial link between patients and healthcare professionals, assisting with inquiries and redirecting them as required.
  • Take responsibility for the cleanliness and organization of the front desk area to maintain a professional atmosphere.
  • Assist in the resolution of any issues or concerns raised by patients, demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Must possess excellent data entry skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • Proficiency in managing patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Experience in patient registration, including gathering and verifying necessary information
  • Prior experience performing receptionist duties, such as handling phone calls and scheduling appointments
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to interact with patients, medical professionals, and team members
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in using medical software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional certification in Office Management or relevant field is a plus.
