The Linwood YMCA/James B. Nutter, Sr. Community Center provides a range of community services addressing youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Join our team in connecting with the community to develop our aquatics programs and create a safe environment where all are welcome.

This key positon will be responsible and accountable for assisting in all aspects of the aquatics department activities and events.

Responsibilities:

  • Play a key role in planning, some managing, and implementing of all departmental programs and activities.
  • Assists and participates in marketing and special events to engage the community.
  • Help oversee departmental operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Assists in interviewing, scheduling, disciplining, and supervising qualified staff.
  • Keep organized records of program participants to support growth and engagement.
  • Assists in staff meetings.
  • Work alongside the center team, encouraging a positive and productive work environment.
  • Notify appropriate staff of any unsafe conditions, needed repairs, complaints, accidents, or injuries immediately.
  • Assist in providing leadership of the Annual Mission Campaign.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum three years experience in this or a related field.
  • Current YMCA or American Red Cross Lifeguard certification*.
  • American Red Cross certifications*:
  • Current First Aid.
  • Current CPRPro (includes AED).
  • Current Emergency Oxygen.
  • Perform and pass rescue skills.
  • Able to relate to people on all levels in a friendly and consistent manner.
  • Paid training is available.
