Job Title: Automation QA Engineer with SRE Background Location: Piscataway, NJ Duration: 12 months Job Purpose: The Automation QA Engineer with SRE background will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated tests to ensure the quality of software applications.
Additionally, this role involves applying SRE principles to improve the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of the systems. Key Responsibilities: Automated Testing: Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts. Work closely with the development team to integrate automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline.
Perform automated testing for backend systems, APIs, and front-end applications. Identify, track, and report defects found during automated testing. Site Reliability Engineering: Assist in the design and implementation of scalable, stable, and efficient systems.
Apply SRE principles to automate operations tasks and improve system reliability. Participate in on-call rotations to support critical systems and address incidents. Collaborate with development teams to ensure that reliability concerns are addressed throughout the software lifecycle.
Lead post-incident reviews and drive root cause analysis and follow-up actions to mitigate future incidents. Collaboration and Planning: Work with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and develop effective testing strategies. Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and design sessions.
Ensure that QA processes align with SRE practices and contribute to continuous improvement. Monitoring and Performance: Develop and maintain monitoring strategies for applications. Analyze system performance and identify bottlenecks. Suggest and implement improvements to enhance performance and reliability.
Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation for test automation frameworks and SRE practices. Document incident reports and ensure knowledge sharing within the team. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Proven experience as a QA Automation Engineer. Solid background in SRE with a deep understanding of reliability challenges and solutions. Skills and Competencies: Proficiency in automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, TestNG, Jenkins Strong coding skills in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Java Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and log management platforms (e.g., ELK stack Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
