Senior Director Supplier Management

Overview:

The Senior Director of Supplier Management is responsible for facilitating and maintaining the strategic direction and management of the company’s supplier relationships. This role entails developing and implementing supplier management strategies to ensure the supply chain is efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with the company's business objectives, while adhering to all safety standards and regulatory compliance.

This Senior Director of Supplier Management will partner with key stakeholders to develop and implement supplier performance metrics, such as SLAs and KPIs, to ensure that all services provided meet the agreed standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with key stakeholders across various cross-functional teams to develop and implement a cohesive supplier management strategy that supports the company’s business goals, including performance improvement and cost-reduction strategies.
  • Facilitate and maintain strong relationships between the company and its suppliers, ensuring the highest levels of service and quality.
  • Establish and monitor supplier performance metrics to ensure compliance with contracts and company standards.
  • Manage the Supplier Management team ensuring the team is set up for success and managed accordingly.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor supplier performance metrics (SLAs, KPIs, etc.) to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and company standards.
  • Creation of improvement plans when suppliers are not meeting desired performance.
  • Develop and implement program to identify and mitigate risks associated with the supply chain, including potential disruptions and supplier performance issues.
  • In coordination with operations, risk management, QA & QC, IT, and legal, create an ongoing supplier monitoring program to ensure supplier activities comply with regulatory requirements, safety standards, insurance requirements, IT requirements, and ethical guidelines.
  • Identify and integrate new technologies and best practices to enhance supplier management processes and performance.
  • Provide training and guidance to internal teams on SLA management processes and best practices to ensure consistent adherence across the organization.
  • Represent the company at industry events, building on supplier relationships.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field, required.
  • MBA, Masters in Supply Chain, or Masters in Finance preferred
  • 10-12 years of experience, including successful track record in procurement, supply chain, continuous improvement, or other management positions
  • 5+ years of managerial experience
  • In-depth knowledge, or passion to learn, the aviation industry and operations

  • Ability to develop high-impact supplier management strategies
  • Exceptional analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to define and understand the most critical issues
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with outstanding cross-functional leadership skills; viewed as credible by business line leaders
  • World-class supplier relationship skills. Continuously, but constructively, demanding of suppliers’ performance
  • Ability to develop actionable supplier improvement recommendations and implementation
  • Willingness to “constructively dissent” and challenge senior management thinking on key supplier management challenges
  • Ability to multitask and to effectively work with competing priorities
  • Strong computer skills - Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Visio, Power Bi, and PowerPoint

Salary Range: $145,500 - $196,000

Financial offer within the stated range will be based on multiple factors to include but not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset.
