Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (1:1 Support)

Pay Rate: $20.50 per hour (W2)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide one-on-one support to a diabetic student in a school setting. The CNA will play a vital role in monitoring the student's health, assisting with diabetes management, and ensuring their well-being throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and document blood glucose levels, recognizing signs of hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia.
• Administer insulin or other necessary interventions based on the student's Individualized Healthcare Plan (IHP) and physician instructions.
• Assist with meal planning and snack management to help maintain stable blood sugar levels.
• Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
• Maintain accurate health records and document any interventions provided.
• Follow emergency protocols in the event of a diabetic emergency.
• Provide basic first aid and additional support as needed throughout the school day.
• Ensure compliance with school health policies and procedures while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of New York.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience working with diabetic patients, preferably in a pediatric or school setting.
• Ability to recognize and respond to diabetic symptoms and emergencies promptly.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, parents, and school staff.
• Successful completion of reference checks and work history verification.
