Role Overview
The Senior SharePoint/Power Platform Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting custom business applications, automated workflows, and other technical deliverables using the Microsoft Power Platform, primarily within the SharePoint environment.The candidate should have strong communication and problem-solving abilities as well as extensive hands-on development experience combined with a strong understanding of business processes, application security, KPIs, requirements analysis, user-centric design principles, and project management to deliver engaging, value-added solutions for diverse audiences in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
SharePoint/Power Platform Development- Build cost-effective, high-value solutions leveraging SharePoint, PowerApps, Power Automate, SQL Databases, BI, and other tools in conjunction with customized code, APIs, and 3rd party add-ons.
- Configure, monitor, and manage permissions, user access, and security settings in SharePoint and Power Apps.
- Assist the Global team with activities such as site migrations, server updates, testing, and other activities that support Group objectives.
- Perform technical feasibility assessments to identify which development platform best meets the specific project criteria.
- Stay informed about current and new technical advancements, add-on tools, and capabilities to enhance both new and existing applications.
- Actively contribute to the global community of citizen developers and IT practitioners by sharing expertise, participating in Viva Engage Community discussions, and exchanging solutions with developers in other regions.
- Provide L2 Service Desk support and respond to tickets in a timely manner.
- Create and present training material as needed to ensure that business partners are equipped to maintain and support solutions autonomously.
- Collaborate with teams from diverse areas of the business to translate complex business requirements into applications that yield significant business value, streamline business processes, and optimize efficiency.
- Assess and prioritize requests from the business to ensure that the projects we accept are cost-effective, fully supported by senior leadership, and achieve quantifiable KPIs established in advance.
- Collaborate with business partners to accurately capture and document business requirements and provide accurate estimates for completing milestones and deliverables.
- Create task lists and adapt the schedule as needed to ensure that the team meets established delivery deadlines.
- Apply agile lifecycle methodologies and other best practices to prevent scope creep and keep projects on track.
- Experience
- 5+ years’ experience building custom SharePoint sites and applications.
- 3+ years’ experience with PowerApps development and deployment (canvas and data-driven), including form design and workflow integration.
- Experience working with diverse, cross-functional teams in complex, global organization, preferably in retail or similar industry.
- Experience with full software development lifecycle including translating business requirements into system requirements, analysis, research, prototyping, design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Experience producing technical documentation including functional specifications, user manuals, training presentations, business requirements, and other deliverables.
- Experience providing user support including troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Education
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in software development or computer engineering)
- Master’s degree in software engineering (preferred)
- - Microsoft Power Platform Developer Certification is a plus.
- Technical competencies & skills
- - Microsoft Power Platform tools and applications including Power Apps (canvas and data-driven), Power Automate, BI, Teams, and Forms
- Power Automate integration with SharePoint, Forms, and PowerApps.
- - SharePoint add-ins, SQL Server, MS Net Framework, HTML, Power Shell, JavaScript, jQuery, PowerShell, APIs, and RPAs.
- - User management,permissions and security protocols in SharePoint and Power Apps.
- Strong understanding of business process automation and how PowerApps can be used to optimize workflows.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and IT colleagues to develop and deliver solutions.
- Excellent communication and training skills.
- - Proficient in quickly learning and implementing code and 3rd party add-ons compatible with SharePoint including Skybow, Nintex, and other tools.
- - Strong knowledge of SharePoint supporting architecture, infrastructure, and related concepts, i.e., IIS, SQL, Windows Server, Active Directory, MS Exchange Server, PowerShell Scriptings
