Overview:

The Program Director is responsible for day-to-day operations of agency’s SVS Program; recruiting, selecting, coaching, supervising, and assessing Therapeutic and Supportive Visitation Specialists and Regional Coordinator; recruiting and selecting of Visitation Aides; Provides clinical oversight and supervision of the visitation staff; collecting and reporting SVS data; participating in various CQI activities; and attending meetings and delivering presentations.

ABOUT SUPPORTIVE VISTATION SERVICES (SVS): Parent-child visitation services for CP&P- involved families with children in out-of-home placement to maintain and strengthen familial interactions and facilitate permanency. Services are provided in the least restrictive setting that maintains safety along a continuum of supervision based on family need.

Core activities include ongoing assessment, visitation, aftercare (post-reunification support), transportation and documentation.

This position is contingent upon the availability of grant funding.

Responsibilities:

Clinical:

  • Make clinical recommendations for services and case direction
  • Maintain confidentiality as required by law
  • Take responsibility for improving clinical skills and utilizing supervision process
  • All supervisor-worker contacts strengthen and expand a broad range of intervention skills
  • Assists workers in structuring realistic treatment or engagement plans
  • Attend clinical supervision and clinical meetings regularly, and advises the Vice President of Counseling and Social Services of any Program issues
  • Actively assist staff in their work with families at any time during the intervention including case assignment, attendance at sessions, and periodic in-home visits to families as needed
  • Provide weekly individual supervision to all clinical staff
  • Provide weekly group supervision and as needed individual supervision to all non-clinical staff
  • Supervise staff in maintaining case records to COA, YMCA, and good practice standards
  • Discuss/assess safety and health needs of staff and families
  • Maintain a mutually supportive atmosphere among team members and throughout the agency

Administrative:

  • Assist in the development of the SVS operational budget
  • Provide supervision to Regional Coordinator
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with referring Agency, Clinical Supervisors, personnel and community agencies and promote positive program functioning
  • Maintains level of service for program and meet contract requirements
  • Assist in grant writing for new program initiatives
  • Responsible for the accuracy and completion of all statistics, reports and information sent to the state
  • Review all program feedback from client and referral source satisfaction surveys
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train staff
  • Conduct performance reviews for all assigned staff
  • Attend required agency meetings and trainings
  • Attends relevant community, county or state meetings
  • Supervise the use of agency cars
  • Have a thorough knowledge of Monmouth and County services
  • Participate in Strong Kids Campaign
  • Complete miscellaneous projects or tasks as assigned by management
  • Proficiency in the use of the Electronic Health Record
  • Promote the Agency in a positive manner with funding sources, staff, referral sources and community

Qualifications:

  • The Program Director (SVS) must possess Master’s Degree in Social Work or
  • The Program Director (SVS) must possess a New Jersey Licensed Clinical Social Worker license to practice counseling and a Clinical Supervisor’s certification to supervise intermediate level licensed
  • The Program Director (SVS) must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working with families & children, including at least 2 years if experience providing mental health or therapeutic services to children, adolescents and/or families.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office including, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience utilizing an electronic health record.
  • The Program Director (SVS) must have a minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience.
  • Ability to relate to and engage with multi-problem families
  • Must possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license and a safe driving record with vehicle availability
  • Must demonstrate a high level of cultural competence, sensitivity and responsiveness
  • Must possess strong communication, writing and time management skills
  • Must be physically able to lift small children and car seats
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
