The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for New Product Development; The design and analysis of mechanical and hydraulic components primarily used in aircraft seat actuation systems and brake control systems; Primary technical point of contact for hydro-mechanical and electro-mechanical products, on assigned projects or programs; Develop, design, and modify components to defined requirements; Prepare the documents required to define the products and show verification of analytics; Provide technical assistance to all internal departments, suppliers, and customers as it relates to the product.
Essential Functions:-Create new products and modify existing products to support customer, applicable regulatory and industry standard, and market requirements.-Perform stress and fatigue analysis on assigned hydraulic and mechanical components and assemblies.-Optimize design solutions based on analysis performed.-Create or calculate tolerance stack ups, performs reliability and Failure Modes and Effects analyses-Lead new product design projects from requirements definition, through concept, detailed design, manufacturing, to a qualified product.
Performs trade studies to optimize design solutions.-Experience in managing suppliers to produce specification compliant products within budget, on time. -Prepare, review, and approve the documentation required to define and control products.Support design reviews, both with external customers and internal, as required.-Monitor testing and analyze data to verify performance of the product to customer and design specifications. Review and approve test procedures and reports.
