Loan Servicing - Support

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Bankruptcy Specialist- a support role based with a company in the housing industry in Frankfort, Kentucky. In this role, you will be part of a team that caters to the financial services industry, with a specific focus on bankruptcy legal compliance and procedures.

Responsibilities include:

• Process and apply bankruptcy payments as appropriate.
• Monitor each case to ensure bankruptcy is progressing in a timely manner and in compliance with insurer’s timeframes.
• Review correspondence from outside counsel, update loan files, and track case status per each insurer and other regulatory guidelines.
• Refer cases to outside counsel to institute necessary actions based on failure to make appropriate payments.
• Communicate with outside counsel as well as internal staff to resolve problems/discrepancies.
• Complete bankruptcy referral sheets to be sent to attorneys.
• When required, coordinate property inspections with the appropriate vendor.
• Communicate with collections and foreclosure staff regarding non-performing bankruptcy cases.
• Refer cases to Loss Mitigation, when required by insurer to do so.

Skills desired:

• Strong knowledge of bankruptcy processes and regulations.
• Familiarity with FHA, VA, RHS, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, PMI, CFPB guidelines.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in using case management systems and software.
