Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Duties:

  1. Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring accurate dosage calculations.
  2. Perform quality control (QC) checks on imaging equipment and radiopharmaceuticals to maintain compliance with safety standards.
  3. Conduct imaging procedures such as PET, SPECT, and planar imaging, maintaining patient comfort and safety.
  4. Monitor and minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and the public through proper safety protocols.
  5. Maintain accurate records of radioactive material handling, administration, and disposal in compliance with Federal and State regulations.
  6. Educate patients and families about the procedure and address their concerns.
  7. Assist in research activities, including evaluating new imaging technologies and radiopharmaceuticals.

Skills Required:

  • Strong knowledge of radiation safety practices.
  • Experience with imaging equipment and radiopharmaceutical handling.

Education:

  • NYS DOH Radiologic Technologist license required.
  • ARRT certification in Radiography and Nuclear Technology mandatory.
  • BLS certification required.
