Job Description

The CNC Process Engineer will report directly into the Engineering Manager and be responsible for:

  • Develop, validate, and optimize CNC machining processes for medical device components, ensuring accuracy, repeatability, and efficiency.
  • Create and modify CNC programs, select cutting tools, and define process parameters to achieve tight tolerances and superior surface finishes.
  • Collaborate with the quality team to implement and maintain rigorous quality standards (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA requirements).
  • Analyze and resolve technical issues in machining processes, minimizing downtime and improving reliability.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve process capabilities using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Partner with design, production, and quality teams to ensure seamless transition from development to full-scale manufacturing.
  • Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), process flow diagrams, and validation reports.
  • Provide technical support and training to CNC operators and other team members.

The Successful Applicant
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in CNC machining, process engineering, or related fields, preferably in the medical device or precision manufacturing industry.
  • Proven expertise in multi-axis CNC programming.
  • Deep understanding of GD&T, machining principles, and cutting tool selection.
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Knowledge of validation protocols and regulatory requirements (e.g., IQ/OQ/PQ, ISO 13485).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
