Reports To: Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO)

Employment Status: Regular, Full-Time Exempt

Summary:

Nashville CARES is in search of a Director for the Insurance Assistance Program (IAP) in Tennessee, a pivotal role designed for a seasoned professional equipped with a master's degree and robust experience in insurance and medical claims. This leadership position entails overseeing the IAP team and ensuring seamless coordination with external vendors for the accurate processing and payment of all insurance premiums, medical, and pharmacy-related claims.

This role is a one-year assignment, with the possibility of extension contingent upon the renewal of grant funding.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Direct and oversee all aspects of the project lifecycle from initiation to closure, including grant/contract management, project execution, and performance tracking.
  • Process Optimization: Lead regular review meetings to ensure comprehensive understanding and continuous improvement of program processes.
  • Integration and Collaboration: Collaborate with other agency directors to ensure the seamless integration of IAP services within the broader agency offerings.
  • Quality Assurance: Develop and maintain a detailed process manual to uphold standards of quality assurance across all program facets.
  • Team Management: Lead a diverse team, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality results within budget and exceeding performance expectations.
  • Risk and Scope Management: Proactively identify and manage project scope, actions, issues, and risks.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate and manage relationships with stakeholders, including end users, state-wide agencies, and vendors, to ensure project success.
  • Training and Development: Oversee comprehensive staff training to ensure team competency and effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in business management, Public Health Administration, or a related field.
  • Program Management Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a program management role.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in claims processing, billing, benefits administration, with a preference for candidates with direct experience in healthcare services/projects management.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage healthcare staff efficiently and effectively.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional capability to multitask, meet deadlines, and manage tasks independently.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop productive relationships and articulate information professionally.
  • Licensing: Valid automobile insurance and a satisfactory DMV record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with federal/state health insurance regulations and experience with service delivery in community-based organizations or HIV/AIDS-related issues.
  • Language Skills: Spanish language proficiency is an advantage.
